Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has asked the Congress party to reveal the names of its leaders who protected those involved in the 2015 sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. He said this demand comes after Congress leaders Pargat Singh and former Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa admitted that the party used the issue for political gains.
Badal said that both these leaders and the Congress must explain why they played politics with such a sensitive matter related to the Sikh community’s holy book.
He also said that both the Congress and the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government have failed to take proper action. Referring to Randhawa’s recent interview, where he said no one wants to take the case to its final result, Badal claimed this shows both parties are not serious about punishing those responsible, even after AAP has been in power for over three years.
