Amritsar Police have detained a software engineer for sending threatening emails about blowing up the Golden Temple.
The suspect has been identified as Shubham Dubey, a resident of Faridabad. He is being questioned by the police. His laptop and mobile phones have been seized and sent for forensic tests.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar called this a “partial success” in the investigation. He said that Dubey had worked with several software companies.
Since July 14, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has received six threatening emails about the Golden Temple. Because of this, security around the temple has been increased.
Central investigation agencies are also helping in the case.
