Third Raid at Bikram Majithia’s House in Disproportionate Assets Case

The Vigilance Bureau team carried out a fresh raid at senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s house in Green Avenue, Amritsar, on Wednesday. This raid is part of the ongoing investigation into a case related to assets worth ₹540 crore that are suspected to be more than his known income.

The search started at 11:30 AM and went on until 3:30 PM. Majithia’s lawyer and fellow SAD leader, Arshdeep Singh Kaler, was present during the raid.

A vigilance officer said that the main aim of the raid was to estimate the value of Majithia’s property and belongings. Engineers and officials were also part of the team to help with the evaluation of both movable and immovable assets in the house.

Before the raid, Punjab Police had put up barricades and restricted public and media access in the Green Avenue area.

This was the third raid at Majithia’s Amritsar residence. The first was held on June 25, after which Majithia was arrested. He is now in judicial custody.

Following recent raids in Amritsar, Majitha, and Delhi, a Mohali court stopped the Vigilance Bureau from conducting further searches without sharing details of the investigation. The court also ordered that any new evaluation must be done in the presence of Majithia’s lawyer.
