Indonesia’s 11-Year-Old ‘Aura Farmer’ Rayyan Arkan Dikha Goes Viral, Wins Scholarship and Tourism

Rayyan Arkan Dikha, the 11-year-old boy from Riau province in Indonesia, has taken the internet by storm after a video of him dancing on the tip of a boat during the Pacu Jalur boat race went viral. With his traditional outfit, stylish sunglasses, calm expression, and smooth, hypnotic moves, Dikha has become a global sensation—dubbed by fans as the ultimate “aura farmer.”

But now, his hometown is doing more than just cheering him online—they’re officially recognising his contribution to culture and tradition. The government of Riau recently named Dikha a tourism ambassador, celebrating his viral performance as a symbol of local pride and youth engagement in tradition. In a special ceremony, Governor Abdul Wahid awarded Dikha a scholarship worth 20 million rupiah (approximately $1,200 USD). The highlight of the event was Dikha dancing alongside the governor himself.

“I am so happy,” Dikha said in Indonesian during the ceremony. “I never imagined I would meet the governor.”

Dikha is not just an internet star but also a Tukang Tari—a traditional dancer whose role is to motivate and energise the rowers during the annual Pacu Jalur race. He has been performing this role since he was just 9 years old. While he danced for local pride and tradition, his recent performance has now brought international attention to both him and the cultural festival.

From becoming a viral icon to being honoured by the state, Rayyan Arkan Dikha is living proof that culture, talent, and tradition can capture hearts across the world—even from the tip of a moving boat.
