Bikram Singh Majithia Sent to Judicial Custody Till July 19

Senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia has been sent to judicial custody by a Mohali court today, after his four-day police remand ended. He will now be kept in New Jail, Nabha, until July 19.

Majithia was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on June 25 from his home in Amritsar. The next day, he was brought to Mohali. Initially, the court had given the Vigilance Bureau a seven-day remand, which was later extended by four more days.

According to sources, during the remand period, Majithia was taken to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday to collect evidence related to Saraya Industries.

Despite today being a Sunday, there was tight security around the Mohali court complex from early morning. Police were stationed in large numbers, and several SAD leaders and supporters were reportedly detained across Punjab to prevent them from reaching the court.
