Six-year-old Teghbir Singh from Ropar, Punjab, has created a world record by climbing Mount Elbrus in Russia, which stands at 18,510 feet. He began his climb on June 20 and reached the summit on June 28.
Teghbir is now officially the youngest person in the world to reach the top of Mount Elbrus at the age of 6 years, 9 months, and 4 days. He received a certificate from the Mountaineering, Rock Climbing and Sports Tourism Federation of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in Russia for this achievement.
Speaking to media Teghbir happily said, “I reached the mountain peak and took a photo with my father there.” His father, Sukhinderdeep Singh, shared that Teghbir had been training for this climb for a year with the help of his coach, Bikramjit Singh Ghuman.
This isn’t Teghbir’s first major achievement. In August 2024, he became the youngest Asian to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
