Rajmargyatra App to Soon Show Routes With Lowest Toll Between Destinations

Starting next month, the Rajmargyatra app by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will introduce a new feature to help motorists identify routes with the lowest toll charges between any two destinations, a senior government official confirmed.

The app, already known for providing detailed information on national highways and offering a platform for lodging complaints, is being enhanced to assist commuters in making cost-effective travel decisions.

Amrit Singha, Chief Product Officer of Intelligent Transportation Systems at the Indian Highways Management Company, shared an example during a briefing. “If someone wants to travel from Delhi to Lucknow, the app will now suggest the route with the least toll — whether it’s via the Yamuna Expressway, Ghaziabad-Aligarh-Kanpur, or Moradabad-Bareilly-Sitapur,” he said.

This update is part of NHAI’s broader push to make highway travel more transparent, efficient, and commuter-friendly.

Spike in Illegal Entry of Two- and Three-Wheelers

Meanwhile, the NHAI has expressed concern over growing violations on access-controlled highways. According to data from its Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), over 1.73 lakh violations were recorded between June 21 and June 23, with more than one lakh violations involving banned vehicles, particularly two- and three-wheelers.

Singha highlighted frequent illegal entries on major stretches like the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and Dwarka Expressway, which are off-limits to these vehicles. Officials say such violations pose serious safety risks and could lead to stricter enforcement measures.

The upcoming features and data insights reflect NHAI’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance road safety, user experience, and system accountability on India’s expanding highway network.
