Sanjeev Arora Takes Oath as Ludhiana West MLA, Cabinet Induction Delayed

Sanjeev Arora, the newly elected MLA from Ludhiana West, took oath of office today. The ceremony was held in the presence of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, who administered the oath.

Speaking after the ceremony, Arora—who was earlier a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab—said he would focus on working for the welfare of the people. When asked about his Cabinet induction, he said, “I believe in taking one step at a time.”

Interestingly, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who was earlier expected to attend the ceremony, was not present. However, several key Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Punjab AAP president Aman Arora, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, and senior leader Manish Sisodia, attended the brief five-minute event. Arora was also joined by his family and close friends, including industrialist Kamal Oswal.

Earlier, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal had announced that Arora would be made a Cabinet minister soon after winning the Vidhan Sabha seat. Even CM Bhagwant Mann had said earlier this week that Arora would be inducted by Friday or Saturday.

However, the Cabinet expansion has now been delayed because Governor Gulab Chand Kataria is away in Udaipur and is expected to return only after July 2.
