Senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia is facing more legal trouble. The police are getting ready to file a new case against him after a raid at his house turned violent.
During the raid, some of Majithia’s supporters allegedly attacked the police and tried to stop them from searching the property. The police say Majithia encouraged his supporters to do this in order to hide important evidence.
According to the vigilance team, they had information that important documents related to a major drug case—worth around ₹540 crore—were kept at his house. They believe international drug traffickers had also stayed at this property in the past.
The officials claim that Majithia tried to scare them, got into physical fights, and conspired to destroy evidence during the raid. The investigation is now focusing on how his actions may have helped cover up crimes linked to drug trafficking.
More legal action is expected soon.
