Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi is recovering steadily after being hospitalised for a stomach-related ailment, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital said in a statement on Thursday. The 78-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital on June 15.
Dr. Ajay Swaroop, the hospital’s chairman, confirmed that Gandhi’s condition is stable and that she is responding positively to treatment. “A specific diet plan has been introduced today as part of her ongoing care. She remains under close observation,” he said.
While her recovery is progressing well, doctors have not yet set a discharge date. The decision will be taken based on her overall recovery. A team of senior doctors continues to closely monitor her condition.
