Sukhbir Badal Leads Rain-Soaked Roadshow, Vows SAD’s Return in 2027

Braving the rain, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal led a massive roadshow that drew hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, including senior party leaders, women, and youth. The event, which started from Jawahar Nagar Camp and concluded at Aarti Chowk, showcased SAD’s strong grassroots connect and Badal’s determination to reconnect with voters.

Standing in an open jeep alongside senior leaders Daljit Cheema, Sikandar Singh Maluka, Sharanjit Dhillon, Kamal Chatly, and SAD’s Ludhiana candidate Parupkar Singh Ghuman, Badal waved at supporters who had lined the streets despite the heavy downpour. People were seen greeting him from rooftops and shopfronts, holding party flags and chanting slogans like “Sukhbir teri soch te pehra dewange thok ke” and “Akali Dal di balle balle baki sarey thale thale.”

Addressing the gathering, Sukhbir Badal said the turnout despite the rain reflected the public’s desire to bring back Punjab’s only regional party. He criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, calling CM Bhagwant Mann a “puppet” of Arvind Kejriwal and claiming AAP had done nothing significant in the last three-and-a-half years.

Party workers walked cheerfully in the rain, saying, “With Badal Saab’s arrival, even the clouds came, giving people relief from the heat — just like the Akali Dal will bring relief by forming the government in 2027.”

A shopkeeper who joined the roadshow said, “This turnout proves people still love the Akali Dal and are ready to bring it back to power.”

The event marked a strong show of support for SAD, reaffirming the party’s confidence ahead of the 2027 state elections.
