UP’s Dussehri Mangoes Fly to Dubai in Major Export Milestone

In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural exports, a 1,200-kg consignment of premium Dussehri mangoes was airlifted to Dubai, marking a historic step for the state’s mango growers. The shipment—400 boxes, each weighing 3 kg—was dispatched to Dubai-based importer Vergro Trading LLC, with a total export value of USD 2,992, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The consignment was flagged off from the Mango Pack House in Lucknow by Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing and Agricultural Foreign Trade.

The initiative is part of the Indo-German Agricultural Market Development (AMD) Project, under which three Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) from the Lucknow region were trained for international agricultural exports. Notably, Irada Farmers Producer Company and Malihabad Farmer Producer Company have secured direct export orders and are independently exporting mangoes for the first time.

“This is a historic milestone. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, mango exports from UP are witnessing consistent growth. The government is providing full support—be it in production, packaging, or meeting export standards—to ensure our farmers get access to global markets,” said Minister Singh.

The move not only highlights the growing international demand for India’s famed Dussehri mangoes but also reflects the government’s focus on empowering FPOs and boosting farm-to-foreign trade.
