Congress Leader Supriya Shrinate Slams AAP’s Education, Health and Finance Model Ahead of Ludhiana West Bypoll

Congress national social media in-charge Supriya Shrinate launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday, raising serious concerns over the state’s education and healthcare systems under its rule. Addressing a press conference at the campaign office of Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Shrinate said the AAP’s much-publicised “Delhi model” has failed to deliver on the ground in Punjab.

“Schools are facing a severe shortage of teachers and hospitals are running without enough doctors. This is the reality behind the tall promises,” she said.

Shrinate also criticised the AAP government’s financial mismanagement, claiming that Punjab had borrowed over ₹1.5 lakh crore in the past three years. She questioned the disproportionate increase in government spending on advertisements, suggesting that taxpayer money was being misused to build political narratives instead of improving services.

Raising concerns over law and order, Shrinate said the public did not feel safe and governance had weakened under the current regime.

Joining her, Congress MP Amar Singh took aim at AAP’s claims surrounding the Halwara airport project, asserting that the initiative had been launched by the previous Congress government in 2018, and should not be falsely credited as a new achievement.

Meanwhile, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, who is also the Punjab Congress Working President, took the opportunity to appeal to AAP workers. He urged them to reflect on their standing within the party, alleging that Punjabi workers have been sidelined and not given due representation in leadership roles.

“Rajya Sabha seats are going to outsiders while hardworking local party members remain unrecognised. This shows a lack of respect for Punjab’s own people,” Ashu said, in a pointed jab at AAP’s leadership decisions.

The statements come just days before the Ludhiana West Assembly bypoll on June 19, where Ashu is contesting against AAP’s Sanjeev Arora, BJP’s Jiwan Gupta, and SAD’s Parupkar Singh Ghuman. The results will be declared on June 23.
