A tragic incident unfolded in Paralkot Village-70 under the Partapur police station limits on Friday night, where three children died and their parents are in critical condition after allegedly consuming poison, police said on Saturday.
According to preliminary information, Devendra Bairagi (36) and his wife allegedly gave poison to their daughters Jutika (9), Dipiti (12), and son Devraj (6), before consuming it themselves during dinner.
While the children could not be saved, alert neighbours rushed the couple to the Pakhanjore Civil Hospital and informed the police. The couple remains in critical condition, officials confirmed.
Locals revealed that the family had been under financial stress, though the exact reason behind the incident is still being investigated.
Police have registered a case and are continuing their probe to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking event.
