In a big move to boost sports in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government is starting a major sports project in Jalandhar. A new international-level sports hub will be built at the historic Burlton Park, with an investment of ₹77 crore.
Today, CM Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal will lay the foundation stone for this mega project. The aim is to support young talent and provide top-class training and facilities for athletes in Punjab and nearby areas.
The upcoming sports hub will have modern infrastructure to host both national and international tournaments. It will also act as a training centre for budding sportspersons.
This step by the Punjab government is being seen as an important effort to bring back the state’s strong tradition in sports and to create new opportunities for athletes to grow and shine.
