Bikram Majithia Appears in Court, Says AAP’s Sanjay Singh Avoiding Defamation Case Hearings

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia appeared before a local court today in connection with a defamation case he had filed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.

Majithia claimed that Sanjay Singh did not show up for the hearing and has been avoiding court appearances.

The case dates back to May 2016, when Majithia filed a defamation suit against AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Ashish Khetan, and Sanjay Singh over statements made during political rallies ahead of the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections.

Majithia said he had already forgiven Arvind Kejriwal and Ashish Khetan after both apologised for their remarks in court. However, Sanjay Singh chose not to apologise and decided to contest the case in court.

Majithia said he would continue to pursue the case legally as Singh has not yet expressed regret for his statements.
