RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that India must become very powerful — both in military strength and economy — so that no one can defeat it, even if many powers unite against it. He said India has no choice but to be strong because of the threats on its borders. But, he also added that strength should be used with values and righteousness. Without this, power can lead to violence.
In an interview with RSS-linked magazine Organiser, Bhagwat said true power comes from within. He said India should not depend on others for its security and must be ready to protect itself. He added that virtues alone are not enough — they must be backed by strength.
He said power should be used to protect the good and destroy evil when needed, but not to control world trade. The goal should be to create a peaceful and empowered life for all.
When asked about Hindus facing problems in other countries, Bhagwat said people care only when Hindus are strong. A united Hindu society will bring strength and respect to India and Hindus around the world. He noted that efforts are being made to strengthen the Hindu society and people are now more willing to stand up for their rights.
He said the RSS’s goal over the next 25 years is to unite the Hindu society and make India a great nation, which can then lead the world. Bhagwat believes the world needs a new kind of revolution — not based on religion, but on values like truth, compassion, and self-control — and India has to lead this change.
He added that the RSS believes Bharat is a Hindu nation and works based on eternal values. While ideas may change over time, the core belief remains the same. He also said RSS allows different opinions, but once a decision is made, everyone follows it together.
