Sikh Leaders Criticize YouTuber Dhruv Rathee for AI Video on Sikh Gurus

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee is facing strong criticism from Sikh religious leaders and organizations for making an AI animation video showing Sikh Gurus and their families.

The Acting Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, has warned Rathee to take down the video immediately. He said the video disrespects Sikh beliefs.

The SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) President, Harjinder Singh Dhami, also demanded that the video be removed right away. He said using AI to show the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and his sons (Sahibzadas) is not allowed. He explained that Sikh history is very sacred, and no one is allowed to create films or animations of Sikh Gurus.

The SGPC said such videos hurt the religious feelings of the Sikh community and go against Sikh traditions, which do not allow the Gurus or their families to be shown in human form.

If the video is not taken down, SGPC has warned that they will take legal action.

A complaint has also been filed with the police by BJP leader Shruti Vij and her team, asking for action against Dhruv Rathee.
