A fake grenade found at a wine shop in the crowded Focal Point area of Ludhiana caused panic among local residents last night. The police had a tough time calming people and stopping false rumours from spreading.
Later, police confirmed that the object was a “dummy grenade” and said it was placed there as a prank by some troublemakers. They assured the public that the miscreants would be caught soon.
The Focal Point area is usually full of migrant workers who are employed in nearby factories, making the incident even more alarming for the locals.
