A 45-year-old tourist from Maharashtra, identified as Shivling Babayya Swami from Latur district, died after collapsing inside the Taj Mahal complex on Wednesday afternoon, officials confirmed.
Swami, who was visiting the historic monument with his family, suddenly felt unwell near the Royal Gate around 1:25 pm. According to Assistant Conservationist Prince Vajpayee, the CISF Quick Reaction Team responded promptly and rushed him to the hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Taj Security, Syed Arib Ahmad stated that the body has been kept in the mortuary, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
