Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has strongly condemned the remarks made by Madhya Pradesh BJP leader and minister Vijay Shah about Colonel Sofia Qureshi. Shah had linked her religious identity to Pakistanis and terrorists, which Warring called unacceptable and communal.
In a statement on Wednesday, Warring said the BJP is trying to take credit for the military’s success, which actually belongs to the defence forces. He also accused BJP leaders of spreading communal hatred to disturb the peace and unity of the country.
Warring added that the BJP is uncomfortable with the unity and togetherness shown by people of all religions and political beliefs across India.
