Amit Shah Reviews Border and Airport Security Amid Ongoing India-Pakistan Tensions

Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting on Friday to review the security situation along India’s border with Pakistan and at airports across the country, amid rising military tensions between the two nations, sources said.

The meeting came shortly after the Border Security Force (BSF) reported that it had foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border in Jammu, killing at least seven terrorists and destroying a Pakistan Rangers post.

During the review, Shah assessed measures being taken to strengthen border security and protect vital installations such as airports, metros, and other key infrastructure. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for airport security, was also part of the discussions.

Top officials including Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau chief Tapan Deka, and the heads of the BSF, CISF, and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security were present at the meeting.

Tensions have escalated following India’s missile strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday, and Pakistan’s failed attempt to target Indian military sites the next day, which the Indian armed forces successfully thwarted.
