Pakistan has fired across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 13 civilians in the Poonch area. A total of 59 people were injured, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday. Out of the injured, 44 are from Poonch.
The Pakistan Army is heavily shelling different areas along the LoC. The Indian Army has responded strongly to these attacks.
The firing has increased after India carried out strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday.
On the night of May 7 and 8, Pakistan used small guns and artillery to fire at Indian areas like Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor. The Indian Army replied with equal force.
Due to the rising tension, all schools and colleges in five border districts of Jammu have been ordered to stay closed for the second day.
