Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to visit India for the annual high-level meeting, the Kremlin said after a phone conversation between the two leaders on Monday.
During the call, both leaders agreed on the need for a strong and uncompromising fight against terrorism in all forms.
The Kremlin confirmed that Putin gratefully accepted Modi’s invitation and highlighted the deep and strategic partnership between Russia and India. It also noted that their relationship is stable, continues to grow in all areas, and is unaffected by outside pressures.
President Putin expressed his condolences for the deaths of Indian citizens in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and assured Modi of Russia’s support in fighting terrorism.
PM Modi also congratulated Putin and the people of Russia on the upcoming 80th anniversary of their victory in the Great Patriotic War.
