Pakistan Warns of Strong Response If Attacked or Water Flow Is Disrupted

Pakistan’s ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, has warned that Pakistan will respond with full military force, including nuclear weapons, if it is attacked or if its water supply is blocked.

He made these statements in an interview with Russia’s state news agency TASS. His warning comes after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. Tensions between India and Pakistan have grown since then.

The ambassador said Pakistan is serious about protecting its rights under the Indus Water Treaty, which India suspended last week. He warned that any attempt to stop or divert water would be seen as an act of war.

However, Jamali also called for peace and said it is important to reduce tensions, especially since both India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons.

He also requested a fair investigation into the Kashmir attack and said countries like China and Russia could help in that process.
