Putin Supports India After Terror Attack in Pahalgam

Russian President Vladimir Putin called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He strongly condemned the attack, expressed sorrow for the loss of innocent lives, and offered full support to India in its fight against terrorism.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, shared details of the phone call on social media. Putin said those responsible for the attack must be punished.

Both leaders also talked about strengthening the close and special partnership between India and Russia. PM Modi also wished President Putin for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day (May 9) and invited him to visit India later this year for the annual summit.

Earlier, on May 2, India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had spoken with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. He also said that the people behind the Pahalgam attack must be brought to justice.
