CM Bhagwant Mann Says Punjab Can’t Share Water, Promises Action Against Drug Mafia

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Saturday that Haryana has forced a water-sharing issue on Punjab at a difficult time. He said Punjab is already fighting a battle against drugs and dealing with security concerns after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

Mann was speaking at an anti-drug rally. He said, “Haryana wants water from us, but we don’t even have enough for ourselves. This is unfair.”

He added that Punjab is about to start planting water-heavy paddy crops from June 1, but the state is still not getting its full share of river water. Mann blamed past governments for not protecting Punjab’s rights, but said things would be different now.

The Chief Minister said Punjab plays a big role in feeding the country by growing crops like rice, wheat, maize, and pulses. Yet, the state has been treated unfairly and left in debt by earlier governments.

Talking about the fight against drugs, Mann warned that big drug dealers would soon face strict action. He said illegal buildings of drug smugglers will be demolished. “Wait for a few days, and you’ll see big buildings coming down. We are going after the big names,” he said.
