The Chief of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sadanand Date, visited Pahalgam in South Kashmir on Thursday. He came to check the progress of the investigation into the deadly terror attack that happened on April 22.
In that attack, 25 tourists and one local person lost their lives. The attack took place near the Baisaran meadow, a remote area near Pahalgam that can only be reached by walking.
Several NIA teams have already gone to the area to collect evidence. A senior official said that the NIA chief’s visit was to understand the situation better and to review the ongoing investigation.
