Over 6,500 People Join ‘Daurda Punjab’ Marathon to Fight Drug Abuse

A strong message against drug abuse was sent out from Jalandhar, where more than 6,500 people took an oath to help create a ‘Rangla Punjab’ during the ‘Daurda Punjab’ marathon. The event was part of the Punjab Government’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs) campaign.

The marathon was organised by the Jalandhar District Administration with support from CT Group, Radio Mirchi, Thind Hospital, and Lovely Bake Studio. It took place at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, where participants showed great enthusiasm.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur led the 3-kilometre run. They urged everyone, especially the youth, to make the anti-drug movement a people’s movement.

During the event, officials administered an oath, asking the crowd to stand against drug abuse, oppose drug traffickers, and encourage those struggling with addiction to seek help. They stressed that a united effort is needed to build a vibrant, drug-free Punjab.
