NIA Begins Investigation into Pahalgam Terror Attack

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started the process to officially take over the investigation of the Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 tourists were killed. This move comes after orders from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

Since Wednesday, NIA teams have been at the attack site, working to gather evidence. Senior officers — including an Inspector General (IG), a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and a Superintendent of Police (SP) — are leading the investigation.

The teams are questioning eyewitnesses carefully to understand exactly what happened. They are also closely checking the entry and exit points to find out how the terrorists carried out the attack. Forensic experts and other specialists are helping to search the area thoroughly for any important clues.
