Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter, Harshita, got married to her IIT-Delhi classmate, Sambhav Jain, on Friday at Kapurthala House in Delhi. The wedding ceremony and reception both took place at this venue.
A day later, Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar criticized the use of Kapurthala House, which is the official residence of Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Jakhar said the house is now being used like a “marriage palace for VIPs.”
He pointed out that earlier, AAP MP Raghav Chadha also held his pre-wedding functions there. Jakhar jokingly said the CM might soon officially turn Kapurthala House into a wedding venue to help raise money for Punjab, which is facing a financial crisis. He called it a new kind of “kranti” (revolution) in “Khaas Aadmi” (VIP) style.
