The Haryana Police have arrested 26-year-old YouTuber Ravina Rao and her lover, Suresh Raghav, in connection with the murder of her husband, Praveen, on March 25.
According to the police, Ravina and Raghav allegedly strangled Praveen, 33, in their home in Chandni Bagh area of Panipat, following a dispute over Ravina’s extra-marital affair and her social media activities. The body was found three days later, on March 28, in a canal near Khojkipur village.
Before her arrest, Ravina confessed that she and Raghav had carried the body on a motorcycle and dumped it in the canal to avoid raising suspicion. The couple had been married for eight years and had a son, but frequently argued due to Ravina’s relationship with Raghav, with whom she collaborated on her social media projects.
The case initially appeared to be an unnatural death, but a breakthrough came after Praveen’s parents informed the police about Ravina’s affair. This led to the arrest of the couple and Ravina’s confession. The police also recovered the rope used in the crime and have registered a murder case along with disappearance of evidence.
Ravina, who has around 35,000 followers on Instagram and 5,000 on YouTube, is currently under investigation. The police have stated that further inquiries are ongoing.
