Karan Johar Opens Up About Weight Loss Journey

Karan Johar recently addressed rumors about his significant weight loss, clearing the air about how he achieved his transformation. The filmmaker shared the details during an Instagram live session, where he confirmed that his weight loss was due to a strict diet and exercise routine, not prescription drugs.

Johar mentioned that his health journey began when he discovered the need to correct his blood levels, which led him to start medication. He dismissed rumors that his transformation was aided by Ozempic or other drugs, stating that his transformation was the result of a disciplined One Meal a Day (OMAD) diet and physical activities like swimming and padel ball.

The OMAD diet, a form of intermittent fasting where one consumes all their daily calories in just one meal, has been gaining attention for its potential health benefits. Shruti K Bhardwaj, chief dietician at Zydus Hospitals, explained that OMAD could improve metabolic health and aid in weight loss, though she emphasized the importance of ensuring that the single meal is well-balanced to provide all necessary nutrients.

Dr Srinidhi Nathany, consultant at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, highlighted the importance of having a baseline bloodwork panel before starting a weight loss plan. This, she said, can offer crucial insights into an individual’s metabolic health and nutritional needs.
