Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur has opened his new restaurant ‘Pincode’ at CP67 Mall in Chandigarh. This marks a special moment for the chef, who studied hospitality in the city 25 years ago.
Pincode is the fourth outlet of the brand, after Delhi, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. The restaurant brings together regional Indian dishes with a modern twist. The decor features an old-world charm, with postal stamps, vintage cameras, wooden chairs, and Punjabi folk music creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere.
The drink menu features a paan-flavored mocktail, and desserts include the Amritsari kulfa with kulfi and faluda.
Kunal, who rose to fame through MasterChef India and has judged on MasterChef America, says food is like art and needs regular practice. He shared fond memories of his student life in Chandigarh, especially enjoying meals at a small fast-food joint in Sector 34.
He also recalled cooking for Amitabh Bachchan early in his career, calling it a memorable moment.
Kunal’s comfort food remains his mother’s namak-ajwain paranthas, and in his free time, he enjoys wildlife and mystery documentaries. He is currently reading **William Dalrymple’s book The Golden Road.
Chef Kunal says he feels proud to return to the city that shaped his journey and hopes Pincode does well in Chandigarh
