On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Tesla CEO Elon Musk over the phone. They discussed the huge potential for working together in the fields of technology and innovation.
PM Modi said that India is fully committed to strengthening its partnership with the United States in these important areas. He also shared that the two talked about several topics, including the ones they had discussed during their meeting in Washington, DC in February this year.
Back in February, Elon Musk had met PM Modi at Blair House in Washington. During that meeting, they talked about space exploration, artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, and sustainable development. They also discussed entrepreneurship and good governance.
Musk, who also leads the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was joined by three of his children during the February meeting.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that the discussions focused on deepening cooperation between India and the US, especially in new technologies and key future sectors.
PM Modi also said that he shared India’s ongoing efforts to improve governance, especially through the idea of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.”
This conversation shows the growing focus on tech partnerships between India and leading global innovators like Elon Musk.
