Parupkar Singh Ghuman, who earlier served as the president of the Ludhiana Bar Association, has been chosen as the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate for the upcoming Ludhiana West Assembly by-election.
The Congress party has nominated Bharat Bhushan Ashu, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has chosen Sanjeev Arora. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced its candidate.
This by-election is being held because the Ludhiana West seat became vacant after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. He died on January 10 due to an accidental gunshot from his licensed weapon at home.
