Punjab Congress Protests Outside ED Office, Calls Charges Against Gandhis “Political Vendetta”

On Wednesday, Punjab Congress leaders, led by state party chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, held a protest outside the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office. They were protesting against the ED chargesheet filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, calling it a case of “political vendetta.”

The Congress leaders accused the BJP-led central government of misusing central agencies like the ED to target and defame the Gandhi family with false charges. They shouted slogans against the government and held placards and banners.

The ED has accused Sonia and Rahul Gandhi of money laundering worth ₹988 crore. Other Congress leaders, like Sam Pitroda and Suman Dubey, were also named in the chargesheet.

Several senior Congress leaders joined the protest, including Partap Singh Bajwa, Rana Gurjeet Singh, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, and Balbir Singh Sidhu. They also staged a sit-in protest outside the ED office.

Warring said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the help of the ED and some supportive media, was trying to create a false image of corruption.
He questioned, “If there really was money laundering, where is the money? The Modi government has been in power for 10 years and still found no proof.
