First Ever Bronze Statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol from ‘DDLJ’ to be Erected at Leicester Square in London

In a historic moment for Indian cinema, a bronze statue of Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, immortalizing their iconic pose from the 1995 blockbuster ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ), will be unveiled at Leicester Square in London.

The statue, which will become part of the ‘Scenes in the Square’ movie trail, was announced by the Heart of London Business Alliance on Wednesday. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first-ever statue dedicated to an Indian film at this renowned location.

The unveiling of the statue will take place this spring, months ahead of the film’s 30th anniversary on October 20. DDLJ, which was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut, holds a special place in the hearts of fans worldwide and was produced by Yash Chopra, Aditya’s father.

This tribute celebrates the enduring legacy of DDLJ, a film that remains one of the most beloved and influential Bollywood films of all time.
