Panchkula: Congress candidate for Panchkula and former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan on Monday addressed several public meetings on Monday, where he claimed that he “believes in real work, and not in rhetoric.”
“The development that has taken place in Panchkula during my tenure as MLA is in front of everyone. After Chandigarh, Panchkula is the second such city of the state where people are blessed with all the comforts. It is now even referred to as the capital of the state,” he said.

“All this was made possible during my tenure here as MLA and as deputy chief minister of the state. Key offices of Haryana, which were earlier in Chandigarh, were relocated to Panchkula during my father Chaudhary Bhajan Lal’s tenure as chief minister,” he claimed.
He also attacked the BJP during a rally, and claimed that the party has turned educated youth into labourers.
“The BJP has snatched the dreams of youth by bringing in Agniveer Yojana. The youth of the state has not been able to forget this, and will teach the BJP a lesson on Oct 5,” he added.
Later in the day, Chander Mohan’s convoy stopped at Eco City Panchkula, where he visited a Shiv temple. “The Congress will win by a big margin in Panchkula,” he said after praying at the temple.
Chander Mohan also thanked the people for showing faith in him, and said that after winning the election, the Congress will fulfill all its promises on priority.
During the day, Chander Mohan held public meetings in Panchkula Sector-4, Haripur, Eco City Barwala Road, Naya Gaon, Industrial Area Phase-1, MDC Sector-4, Sector-15, Sector-25, Sector-26, Sector-31, Sector-14, Sector-20 and Sector-15.
