On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him unfit for leadership. Mann questioned Gandhi’s abilities, saying, “He doesn’t have that quality. God has not given him that. Why are you pushing him to become a leader? It’s not like a family fiefdom.” The CM also expressed sympathy for Gandhi, claiming that he is “very sad about where he has got stuck.”
Mann further criticized Gandhi’s leadership, pointing out that the Congress leader often skips important Parliamentary sessions, preferring to travel abroad. He humorously compared Gandhi’s political journey to the swift launch of the Chandrayaan space mission, suggesting that while the mission took off quickly, Gandhi’s career hasn’t yet taken off.
The comments came in response to the Congress party’s criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, particularly regarding its handling of farmer protests against the Centre.
In a separate matter, CM Mann called for people’s support in the ongoing war against drugs in Punjab. In an audio message, he urged citizens to actively join the movement, highlighting a dedicated WhatsApp helpline (9779100200) to seek public involvement in the fight against narcotics.
