16 Naxalites Killed in Encounter, 2 Security Personnel Injured in Chhattisgarh

At least 16 Naxalites were killed, and two security personnel were injured in an encounter in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, on Saturday. The gunfight occurred in the morning hours in a forest area under the Kerlapal police station, where a joint team of security forces was conducting an anti-Naxalite operation.

The operation, which started on Friday night, involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), following intelligence reports about Maoist presence in the region.

So far, the bodies of 16 Naxalites have been recovered from the site of the encounter, and the operation is still ongoing. Two security personnel sustained minor injuries during the clash, according to officials.
