Punjab Government Changes SIT Head in Army Colonel Assault Case

The Punjab government has replaced the head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case.

ADGP AS Rai is now leading the SIT, replacing ADGP SPS Parmar, who was recently appointed as Chief Director of the Vigilance Bureau.

However, two other SIT members, SSP Sandeep Malik and SP Manpreet Singh, will continue in their roles.

This is the fourth time the investigation team has been changed. Earlier, three teams were formed but were replaced due to High Court orders or objections from the victim’s family.

Twelve police officers have been charged with assaulting the Army Colonel and his son.
