Punjab’s Jails Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has taken strict action by suspending 26 jail staff members. This includes high-ranking officers like superintendents and assistant superintendents. The reason? They were either absent from duty, allowed illegal activities inside prisons, or misused their powers. The decision was made after surprise inspections in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Bathinda jails. Bhullar said that there will be zero tolerance for any officer who fails to do their job properly.
