24 Girl Students Allege Sexual Harassment by Mathematics Teacher in Rajgarh, Teacher Arrested

In a disturbing revelation, 24 girl students of the Government Model Senior Secondary School in Rajgarh have accused their TGT mathematics teacher of sexual harassment. The students, ranging from Class VIII to Class X, submitted a written complaint alleging inappropriate touching and misconduct by the teacher.

The complaint was lodged with the school Principal, Kanta Devi, who promptly forwarded it to the school’s anti-sexual harassment committee. The girls have since been counselled, and parents were called for a meeting the very next day. Most parents were unaware of the reason behind the urgent meeting until their children broke down and revealed the traumatic experiences.

“The girls were hesitant to share their ordeal with their parents out of fear and hesitation,” said one father emotionally. A mother of another student expressed heartbreak over the teacher’s behaviour, demanding his immediate dismissal to prevent further victimisation.

The police have arrested the accused and registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Local residents and parents criticised the school management for allegedly downplaying the issue and delayed action. However, Principal Kanta Devi stated, “There had been no prior complaints against the teacher. Once the written complaint was received, immediate steps were taken.”

Teachers in the district have also condemned the alleged conduct. Surender Pundir, officiating Principal in Sirmaur, said, “If found guilty, the accused must face strict punishment. His actions have brought shame to the entire teaching community.”

The case remains under investigation as the community demands justice for the victims.
