A 23-year-old man, Ajayver Singh, was shot dead by his two friends at Rasulpur village on Thursday morning. The incident happened when the victim was having tea with his friends before leaving for work.
According to DSP Atul Soni, the accused — Jagroop Singh Jupa and Arashdeep Singh Arshi from Chutala — were arrested shortly after the incident. The attackers fled the scene, leaving behind a 9 MM Glock pistol.
Ajayver Singh, who worked as a daily wager, was living in a rented house with his mother, wife, and young son. After the gunshots were heard, his family rushed in and found him injured. He was taken to the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran, where he died of his injuries.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and Arms Act, and both accused are now in custody. The motive for the murder is still under investigation.
