₹350 Crore Business in the Name of a Moga Laborer: Documents Seized for Free Ration; Fake Company Set Up in Ludhiana; GST Department Issues Notice.

A laborer in Moga, Punjab, received a ₹35.71 crore GST notice after a bogus firm worth ₹350 crore was registered in his name.

Crores of rupees were manipulated (misappropriated/siphoned off) when his Aadhaar card and other documents, obtained under the pretense of offering free rations during the Corona era, were used to establish a firm called “Sike International” in Ludhiana.

An investigation revealed that the company was nonexistent. The GST Department and Moga Police are currently looking into the matter after the upset family filed a police report.

The Beginning of Trapping a Poor Family in a False Business: Ajmer Singh, a Moga native, has been identified as the victim. The family claims that their extremely poor financial situation makes it impossible for them to run a business worth crores.

In order to give him free rations during the Corona period, some people stole his Aadhaar card and other documentation. These same documents were later used to create his PAN card and establish a business in his name.

The matter was suppressed prior to the first notice: Even in 2023, the family claimed to have gotten a notification of approximately ₹25 lakh. The issue was resolved after they traveled to Ludhiana to explain their circumstances. But now that the huge notice of crores has arrived once more, the whole family is in disbelief.

No Company Existence Found in Investigation: According to the GST investigation, “Sike International” was only established for a single office number, and there is currently no office there. Records reveal that between October 2022 and December 2022, a false transaction of ₹350 crore was displayed. Additionally, a claim for ₹10.50 crore in Input Tax Credit was discovered to be wholly bogus.

The issue will be thoroughly probed, according to Investigation Officer ASI Raghpal Singh.

Police began looking into the victim’s family’s complaint.
The Moga family has complained to the police. The complaint has been received, according to inquiry Officer ASI Raghpal Singh, and senior officers will be tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry.
