New Delhi: Opposition parties have blamed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for its alleged failure to act against disruptive elements, following a recent attack on a temple. The incident, which took place in the national capital, has sparked political outrage and demands for stricter action.
Opposition leaders accused the AAP government of ignoring rising tensions and failing to curb lawlessness. “The attack on the temple is a direct result of the Delhi government’s inaction. They have allowed disruptive forces to operate freely,” said a senior BJP leader.
The incident has also raised concerns about communal harmony, with leaders urging swift police action. Delhi Police have launched an investigation and assured strict punishment for the culprits. “We are examining CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify those responsible,” a police official said.
AAP, however, defended itself, calling the allegations politically motivated. “We strongly condemn the attack. Law and order is under the Centre’s jurisdiction, and we urge the authorities to act swiftly,” an AAP spokesperson stated.
With elections approaching, the incident has intensified political tensions, with both sides using it to target each other. Meanwhile, religious and social groups have called for peace and unity to prevent further unrest.
