Actress Pratibha Ranta is celebrating one year since the release of her film Laapataa Ladies. She shared that the film played a big role in helping her grow as an actress.
In the movie, she played a small-town bride, and her performance impressed both audiences and critics. On this special occasion, Pratibha expressed her gratitude to producer Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao.
She said, “I feel so happy to be part of Laapataa Ladies. This film helped me improve as an actress, and it’s amazing that a whole year has passed since its release. Every day on set was a learning experience for me.”
She also added, “I will always be thankful to Aamir Khan sir and Kiran Rao for bringing out the best in me. Even though a year has passed, the audience still remembers the film, and I feel grateful for that.”
Laapataa Ladies also starred Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Shrivastav, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan. It tells the story of two newlywed brides who get swapped by mistake while traveling on a train to their husbands’ homes.
The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023 and was released in theaters on March 1, 2024. It was chosen as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2025 but unfortunately did not make it to the shortlist.
Despite this, Laapataa Ladies remains a milestone in Pratibha Ranta’s career. She received great appreciation for her natural performance and is now seen as one of the most promising young actresses in the industry.
