Following its successful run in Hindi-speaking regions, the film will debut in Telugu due to high demand from fans, who had been actively urging the makers for a dubbed version since its release two weeks ago.

On Wednesday, production company Maddock announced the exciting news via their Instagram account, sharing a poster featuring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The caption revealed that Chhaava will release in Telugu on March 7, stating, “The epic tale of India’s courageous son, #Chhaava, is now all set to roar in Telugu by popular demand. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava has performed exceptionally well at the box office since its debut on February 14, grossing over ₹500 crore worldwide and becoming the second-highest-grossing period epic in Hindi cinema after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. In India alone, it has earned ₹385 crore and is projected to surpass the ₹400 crore mark soon. Given its current momentum, the film may reach the ₹700 crore milestone globally.

Chhaava has seen particularly strong performance in Maharashtra, where Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is celebrated as a cultural icon. The film, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh, tells the captivating story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, resonating deeply with audiences. Other states like Rajasthan and West Bengal are also witnessing increased footfall mid-week.
