Goa Police have made the biggest drug seizure in the state’s history. A man was arrested in Guirim village for possessing 11.672 kg of hydroponic weed, valued at ₹11.67 crore.
The Crime Branch caught him on Saturday and booked him under the NDPS Act. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant praised the police for their efforts, calling it a “major breakthrough” in the fight against drugs.
The Goa government has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs and plans to strengthen intelligence and surveillance to keep the state drug-free.
Hydroponic weed is grown without soil using water-based nutrients in an artificial environment.
